GET READY FOR SHOW SEASON, driving local trails, or raising a foal or young horse of your own.
Our herd currently numbers 19. This includes young horses, horses started to driving or saddle, finished show and pleasure morgans all the way to senior citizens; stallions, mares, mares in foal and geldings. Many are for sale, and we sell our best. So far, every morgan horse that we have sold has gone on to a permanent home. A fact that we are very proud of as Morgan Horse breeders for more than thirty years. We are a three generation family farm.
We have four stallions available At Stud. Two Bays, One Black, and One Chestnut. Three of the four are available For Sale. Each one is pleasant, tractable, has great conformation, good movement, and is beautiful. The two bays and the black are the ones for sale. They could also be gelded, and be spectacular geldings. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian. All been ridden by amateurs and have been seriously prepared for driving via long-lining +. The black has been in driving training.
There are four geldings also for sale (Sleipnir Explorer went from the Grand Nationals to a show home):
Two gorgeous, friendly Bays, who are mature and have been ridden in various tack and who both also drive. One had significant driving training and can be driven by a 4 y/o, as well as being fine for youth and adults. The other has been an In-hand Champion and comes from superior showhorse lines. Again, no vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian. Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses.
Perfect examples of our motto: Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses. Ready for their own special humans.
Two younger chestnut geldings. Two years old. Almost a matching pair. Family friendly; Show horse quality. Ready to be finished as an amateur trained pair or professional quality singles. Like the two older bays: Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian.
And NOW The MARES: We have a number of lovely ladies available; and some that we would also consider for on-farm Broodmare lease.
We have a spectacular BLACK mare who is a Grand National proven showhorse in Roadster-to-Bike. She has MANY hours of professional training with a well-known driving trainer. She can alter her speed from him to an amateur owner. She is also trained for saddle, and is super friendly, and loves carrots! Safe to hook single-handed…safe to stand in harness…will not balk for amateur handler(s). Stands for the farrier and veterinarian. Has trailered locally and long distance with no balking at loading, or hauling. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. She will definitely be in the ring for someone this year…make sure that someone is you!
Some other really nice mares…for pleasure/local homes or the class A show circuit or the breeding shed. Famous bloodlines up close, with the conformation, beauty, movement, presence and human-loving character than are the strong points of the Morgan Horse breed. Bloodlines that will cross well with all the popular lines.
We also are acting as Agents for another long-time Morgan Horse (driving) Breeding Farm….ask us!!!
Two mares in foal. Both foals will be offered For SALE. Put a deposit on one, or both, NOW!!

Our 2005 Bay gelding, Sleipnir Explorer (B-L Rhinestone Kid x May’s Sweetie) went to Oklahoma City, OK for the Grand National Morgan Horse Show in October, 2011. Several young girls saw him there, and were captivated by him. One young lady, Savannah Mitchell, and her mother Julie, have purchased him.
Explorer, aka “Zippy”, was brokered by Sue Nerland, who had guided our grand-daughter, Amber McGee, in training him; and by Mary Shappee & Gert Shuckhart of Majic Stables, where Explorer went from the show grounds, and where he will remain in training and for Savannah’s lessons.

Sleipnir Fieldstone (B-L Rhinestone Kid x NEJ Golddust Emma) 2006 Bay Gelding – Harness and Saddle
Sleipnir Fieldstone is from Rhinestone’s final foal crop; and he is out of one of my favorite mares, Emma, who we have on a breeding lease. Fieldstone is trained for harness and saddle.
He is one of two well trained mature geldings that we have for sale. The other is Sleipnir Celestial Array. We also have several mature geldings on our sales list for other owners.
Fieldstone has been handled by both professionals and amateurs since his birth. All our foals are imprinted at birth…more on that topic later.
He was started in his ground driving training by a very experienced long-time carriage driving enthusiast, whose family has had morgan horses for generations. Fieldstone recently has been in professional driving training to be completely finished as a safe family driving horse. He has been shown in Morgan Class A pleasure driving, but that is an aside from his family driving.

- Mary Kate driving S. Fieldstone. Photo by Audra Olinger. In his picture here, he is being driven by our trainer’s 4 y/o daughter. She has the reins.
Travis Olinger, his trainer, showed him at the 2011 Liberty Classic Horse Show. Travis’ email is: atolinger@charter.net He trains harness horses. His family is prominent in Hackney pony and Saddlebreds in Harness here in Eastern Tennessee. He likes to work with amateur owners. We are encouraging an appreciation for our family friendly morgan show and backyard horses.
After his class, Fieldstone also was driven on the show-grounds by an amateur beginner new to him.
He has been trained to saddle by our middle grand-daughter, Kimberly, when she was a younger teen-ager…beginner. He has been ridden in rings of various sizes and in our fields. She has severe allergies so she has not been up on him for awhile. But his driving is totally up to date.
Fieldstone loves humans, especially the little ones. We have used him as a grooming demonstration horse as a 2 y/o, with THREE 7 – 8 y/o boys…and a surrounding crowd.
He also has gone as a breed representative to a Farm Extension Day for all the county first graders, and extended families, and home schoolers.
S. Fieldstone is a prime example of our breeding motto for over thirty years:
“Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses”

I have posted news about Onstar earlier. Here are two pictures of her at the 2011 Grand National Morgan Horse Show in Oklahoma City. Both photos are by Howard Schatzberg.
In Elizabeth’s gallery for our mares that are for sale, there are other pictures that Elizabeth and Travis’ wife, Audra, have taken of Onstar being driven. There’s even a picture of me driving her. I’ll have Elizabeth comment with a direct link to Onstar’s “gallery”. But you can go to www.ImagesnMemories.com >> “Galleries” >> Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm – Public Gallery >> Mares For Sale >> and choose Sleipnir Onstar’s Gallery. There are galleries for most all of our “For Sale” Horses as well as “historic” photos. I recently found some other “historic” photos, and we will be scanning and adding them soon.
Onstar traveled to and from OKC and did well in her stall, grooming stall, ready ring and class. This was only her second time in a ring with traffic, and she handled all the lights and noise of the Coliseum for the Roadster class like a trooper. She is kid kissable, and like all our horses, stands well for the farrier, veterinarian, etc; and is current on all vaccinations, wormings, and such.

Amber and Explorer pinned in their first two classes here at the Nationals, and he has been garnering fans.
We are very proud of Amber’s accomplishments. With Sue (and Chris) Nerland’s supervision she has improved as a rider and changed Explorer (and herself) from Western tack to Hunt Seat tack, and they are beginning to work on Saddle Seat together. We believe in horses learning many styles of equipment.
When we purchased our first horse, UC Spicy Lass (UC Marquis x UC Taffy) our girls were 10, 7, and 6 years old. Now, our grandchildren are 18, 17, 16 and 10.
When we met Amber and Kimberly, Amber thought horses were icky. Now, she feeds in all kinds of weather (even in gorgeous Tennessee) and has shown often in the rain.
Sleipnir Explorer is one of B-L Rhinestone Kid’s (Waseeka’s Showtime x B-L Brown Lace) last foals. We had Rhinestone since he was a weanling (1980-2009) and he never disappointed us in the quality of his foals. They all are athletic, lovely/handsome, VERY people friendly horses, that have pleasant ways of going and can move along for miles/hours.
Explorer is out of May’s Sweetie (Cap’s Nugget x Eck’s Twiggy), Noel Jones’ special driving mare. Sweetie is as good as her name says…wonderful personality. She is one of the Members of Merrill May’s breeding farm in Ohio (1984-retired now). She has presented us with some wonderful foals; and we continue having two of her daughters on breeding lease (NEJ Golddust Alice and NEJ Golddust Emma) (available).
From the very beginning, when we purchased Spicy, we became a family friendly morgan horse breeding farm. It is wonderful that the third generation is continuing the tradition. We had stopped showing for many years. Now, with Amber, we are back. Watching her bring Sleipnir Explorer from the farm in Tennessee to OKC has been an honor and a privilege. We are so very proud of both of them and their accomplishments and grateful to all those who aided them along the way.

Sleipnir Onstar – 2003 Black Morgan Mare – Harness and Saddle – On the Way to the Grand National
Sleipnir Onstar, our 2003, BLACK driving and saddle mare is on her way to the Morgan Horse 2011 Grand National Horse Show, to be shown in Roadster To Bike.
S. Onstar, is a very versatile Morgan Mare with impeccable breeding that can complement any breeding program.
While she follows Travis Olinger, her trainer, around like a puppy, she could easily gear up or down and could be a harness mare in any of the Divisions: Park Harness, Pleasure Driving or Roadster to Bike. She is being shown in the Roadster-to-Bike class. Dr. John has always wanted a Roadster to Bike contender, and S. Onstar definitely can show her stuff. She could hold her own with some of the best in morgan history.
Onstar commenced her career at home being a lesson horse for our young amateur grandchildren. She can vary her tempo and speed for her rider. She has been ridden in Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat, and Western tack. She is a prime example of our breeding and training motto: Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses
She is one of B-L Rhinestone Kid’s (Waseeka’s Showtime x B-L Brown Lace, by UVM Flash) only producing-aged daughters available. Her dam, NEJ Golddust Louise, (Golddust Miner M C x Alaba Dolly – Trophy and Beamington) has been sold to be a parade horse and broodmare. Since Rhinestone is deceased and Louise has been sold, S. Onstar is a unique cross, never to be repeated.
She is trained, and will be shown by Travis Olinger, who has been a horseman since his early youth. He is calm, quiet, and methodical in his training methods; and enjoys working with amateur owners. His well-known family specializes in Roadster Harness Hackney ponies and Saddlebreds in Harness, as might be expected in Eastern Tennessee. But he enjoys his time with our sensible, intelligent, and fancy Morgan Horses. Look for pictures of his four year old daughter driving Sleipnir Fieldstone, (B-L Rhinestone Kid x NEJ Golddust Emma).
Wish us well and look for new photos of her in her www.ImagesnMemories.com Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm public gallery, mares for sale gallery, SOON.

Our granddaughter, Amber McGee, and our 2005 Bay gelding, Sleipnir Explorer (B-L Rhinestone Kid x May’s Sweetie) have made their way to Oklahoma City, OK for the Morgan Horse Grand National Horse Show.
They have been training with Sue (and Chris) Nerland, of Lancer Stables/R’surene Morgans, and have had a solid show season this year, their second year of Class A rated morgan horse shows. Sue is imparting her wealth of knowledge and experience to Amber. This year they have shown at the Dixie Cup, Southern States Regional, Kentucky Bluegrass Classic, and the Liberty United Classic Horse Shows.
Amber has been S. Explorer’s trainer from the beginning. She has had professional coaching from several well known morgan horse people; but she has done virtually all the hands on work herself.
Explorer is following in the fine tradition of people friendly, athletic, intelligent “Family Show Horses: Showy Family Horses” that has been our breeding philosophy since the birth of our first two family show horse geldings, Sleipnir Valhalla (UVM Viking x UC Spicy Lass) and Sleipnir Selebrity (Donnybrook Celebrity x UC Spicy Lass) in the 1980’s.
Amber and Explorer are entered in several classes at the Grand National. Elizabeth or I will attach a list of their classes to the comments on the blog. It is possible to watch the entire GN in real time online. Amber has been working Explorer Hunt Seat, but he would do equally well at Saddle Seat or Dressage. He also has worn Western tack.
Sleipnir Explorer is just one of several of our terrific geldings. We also have Sleipnir Celestial Array (Bay), Sleipnir Fieldstone (Bay), Sleipnir Double Feature (Chestnut), and Sleipnir Resonance (Chestnut) available, as well as some very nice Black geldings available from friends of ours. All are very people friendly, athletic, intelligent, with good conformation and no vices. All are offered for sale. Most all of our horses would be equally at home in a national caliber show ring or a family field. Almost all prefer carrots to apples.

Hello,
The weather is beautiful and the Horse Show is continuing today at the Tri-County Fairgrounds/Arena in Cleveland, Tennessee. Off the first Cleveland Exit heading North from Chattanooga, on I-75. Off the third Cleveland Exit heading South from Knoxville or Athens, on I-75.
There is no charge for visitors to the show.
Four of our Morgan Horses will be shown today. Sleipnir Onstar, our gorgeous BLACK, driving mare, currently showing Roadster-to-Bike, but she could go up or down. She follows her trainer like a puppy. Our three mature geldings will all be at the show: Sleipnir Celestial Array, a handsome Bay that rides and drives; Sleipnir Explorer, a friendly Bay that has been Junior Exhibitor Hunt Seat Equitated; and Sleipnir Fieldstone, another friendly handsome Bay, that rides and drives. He has been worked casually laid-back, family-friendly, and has been driven by a four-year-old girl! He can go further up in speed and action, or become an excellent carriage driving horse.
All our horses have a great deal of on-the-ground training time. The driving horses have mostly been started by a carriage driving/CDE enthusiast, who’s family has been breeding morgans for multiple generations. Some have been further worked by a young man who is also from a multi-generation driving enthusiasts family, but with a decided showhorse orientation. The horses that have been worked in equitation are also under the care of a multi-generation morgan horse family, and an equitation instructor. They all stand for the veterinarian and farrier, and are current on their vaccinations and wormings.
There are horses at the show of other breeding also. Arabians, Friesians, Hackney/Harness ponies, And other breeds.
Please see the website for Liberty at: www.LibertyUnitedHorseShow.yolasite.com
Good Wishes to all the exhibitors.
