Welcome to the Smokie Mountains, and our family farm, where we raise unusual and heirloom plants, sell antiques and unique decor items, and raise and protect the bloodlines of, the Morgan Horse.
People who do not know about the Morgan Horse usually think of them as a draft horse type animal…actually, they are more like a calmer Arabian in style and size. They, ride, drive, pull, can jump, and look stylish doing it all.
Over the course of the blog, we’ll talk alot about the Morgan Horse’s heritage and conformation…and uses.
Morgan Horses love their humans…and by and large like to be out doing stuff. They are very easy keepers.
These two characteristics led them to be a dominant US cavalry mount in settling the West. They will go above and beyond for their humans, on very little forage and grain.
We are having a Spring Open House and Plant Sale this coming Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
We will probably not have any of the 2010 foals that are due, but maybe Emma will have hers by then…However, we have the 2009 yearlings. Sleipnir Hiwassee is still here, even though she has a new owner…all the way to UC Cinnamon who is 31 y/o this year.
We have wonderful Morgan Horses For Sale at all times, for us and other Morgan Horse owners. Come visit. If you need to come outside of farm hours, let us know, and we will attempt to be available.
Come learn about these wonderful horses. They are prominent in the foundation stock of many other breeds, including the Tennesse Walker, Saddlebreds, and pacer/racing horses.
