Meet the Stallions: Part 1: Sleipnir Echo’s Finale and his Sleipnir-prefixed Get available

Hello

Here is a reference photo of Sleipnir Echo’s Finale (Exquisite Sir Echo x Sleipnir Constellation, by B-L Rhinestone Kid).  Echo is our Chestnut stallion.  His sire was a popular show horse and breeding sire. His dam is our very lovely, now retired, former New England and Mid-Atlantic winning Pleasure Driving mare and retired broodmare.  She was also a model in her younger years, gracing the cover of the Horseman’s Yankee Pedlar; and her photo was requested by the AMHA to appear in a volume of the Morgan Horse Registry as an example of an ideal Morgan Mare.  This was when photos were chosen by committee for inclusion in the Registry Volumes, not included as advertizing revenue.

His foals for us and outside breeders have all been people-friendly, easy-going, athletic, intelligent, well-put-together, gorgeous Chestnuts…either red or brown.  He throws a pretty head, solid hooves, close coupled body, good legs, tiny ears and kind eyes.  He has excellent Old Government, Wasseka’s, Orcland via Ulendon, and other top long-term breeding farms in his bloodlines, and he can cross with all of the older style and the currently popular bloodlines…for national caliber show horses, calm and steady carriage driving prospects, and family friendly backyard companions.

Sleipnir Echo’s Celebrity (“Bree”) is a Dark Chestnut/Liver Chestnut 2009 mare who is absolutely gorgeous and quite friendly. $7,500.00

Sleipnir Double Feature (“D. F.”) a brownish red chestnut 2010 gelding is not quite as dark as “Bree”; and not as red as “Resonance” but could make a driving pair with either S. Echo’s Celebrity or S. Resonance.  Everyone who sees him cannot wait to see him driving.  $5,000.00

S. Echo’s Celebrity and S. Double Feature are royally bred. Bloodlines to conformation say these horses have beauty, athleticism and talent.  These two are out of Playday Rebecca (Stoneholm Taliesin x Stoneholm Alameda) who has had several really spectacular foals for other breeders as well as for us.  She is currently in foal by Sleipnir Carbon Copy (B-L Rhinestone Kid x Coeur d’Alene, by Breezeway out of a Funquest bred mare) for 2012.  Due for delivery soon!

Sleipnir Resonance is a redder chestnut/sorrel 2010 gelding, by Echo out of NEJ Golddust Alice, a red chestnut, tall, proven broodmare and lesson horse that looks good under saddle for either a man or a lady.  S. Resonance had an eye injury last Autumn.  His veterinarian will verify that his vision is unaffected, but he does have small residual scarring that will only get smaller as he grows. In light of that, he is for sale for less than the cost of his vet care.  A sweet horse a bit further along in his leading, stabling, etc. due to his injury.  $1,975.00

He has also had Get for another breeder, who has sold his Echo babies as driving horses; and who says his Echo babies are the most pleasant to work with that he has ever had.

Sleipnir Echo’s Finale is 14.3hh, flat-hooved, no shoes, and trimmed for pasture.

His Stud fee is $1,000.00, live foal guaranteed.

All Sleipnir Morgan Horses have their pedigrees listed on www.allbreedpedigree.com; where you can also do “hypothetical” breedings.

All of our For Sale Horses always have asking prices listed and available.  All are current on their vaccinations and wormings, will sell with a current negative Coggins, all have lots of basic ground manners – stand for the farrier, veterinarian, and grooming/handling by amateurs. Many are trained to ride and drive.  All maintain a good hoof, are trimmed regularly and cut-down, trimmed for pasture.  Only the horses currently stalled in training carry a longer hoof and wear a shoe.  Most of the mares and geldings have been pastured together at various points in time.

Every Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm horse ever sold in our over thirty years of breeding has gone to a permanent loving home.

Our Spring Open House date has not been scheduled due to John’s recovery from his illness and our tornado related rebuilding work.  Visitors are always welcome, with notice preferred.  Contact Georgia at 423 284 0899 Cellular and Texts, or Denmanfam@aol.com and GLDenman@aol.com for email.

Meet the Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm Geldings, Part 2 of 2: Two 2 y/o Chestnut Geldings: Sleipnir Double Feature and Sleipnir Resonance

Two 2010 Geldings and Two 2009 Mares running in pasture

Meet Sleipnir Double Feature (D F) and Sleipnir Resonance, our two 2010 red chestnut/sorrel Morgan geldings.  In the picture above from Front to Rear, it is S. Resonance, S. Double Feature; then two 2009 mares: S. Hiwassee, a black mare by Sleipnir Sequoyah and S. Echo’s Celebrity (a full sister to D F).

Sleipnir Double Feature (Sleipnir Echo’s Finale x Playday Rebecca)  (“D F”).  D F is the essence of all that we hoped for from a cross between Echo and Rebecca.  He is intelligent, athletic, handsome, friendly and willing to please, with a great way of going.  He is royally bred with a pedigree filled with athletic, people-friendly, and beautifully formed ancestors.  He should mature around 15hh+/-.  He has all the talent and temperament for a multitude of disciplines; either as a National level, Class A caliber show horse in Pleasure Driving, a fancy friendly family horse, or an athletic competitive carriage driving horse.  S. Double Feature could be paired with either S. Resonance or S. Echo’s Celebrity.  Like all our horses, we have every reason to keep him; but we sell our best, and with John still recovering from his foot wound/infection that he acquired while attending the 2011 W/GN MHS in OKC, we are not able to devote the attention to our herd that they deserve.  Everyone who sees this guy wants to get driving him!! and by Fall, he’ll be ready to saddle. Get him now, and train him your way. He is priced at $5,000.00, and we would prefer a home where he will be able to be fully utilized to his best advantage.

Sleipnir Resonance (Sleipnir Echo’s Finale x NEJ Golddust Alice) Resonance is slightly redder chestnut than Double Feature (D F); but still close enough to be a pair. He is super friendly, and comes right to the fence for bits of carrots and to be scratched.  Resonance is also by “Echo” and out of one of our  favorite producing mares, “Alice”.  Alice is a great mother, easy to breed, and to deliver, and nice to work around her foals. She is also a great horse for beginner riders of any age for in the schooling rings.  She is tall enough for a man, and pretty enough for a woman, and has been a lesson horse for all our grand-children, plus others.  (She is available For Sale by her owners; we have her on lease). Resonance had an eye injury earlier last Autumn, but has completely recovered.  His veterinarian is available to confirm that his vision is unaffected.  The flaw does lead us to price him slightly lower than he would usually be: at $1,975.00.  He should mature to the same range as DF.   Alice’s foals have been sold for breeding stock as well as permanent members of family farms.  Resonance is a bit further in his handling training due to his eye injury, and need to be handled and stalled.  People who have worked around him will agree that he is a sweetheart with tons of potential in various disciplines, singly or as a pair.

Either singly, as a possible pair, or combined with any of our other offered horses, S. Double Feature and Sleipnir Resonance, would make friendly and athletic additions to anyone’s stable or paddocks.  For those buyers that prefer red and brown chestnut/sorrel to other coat colors, they would be a treasure.  These fellows are ready to train to drive your way, or soon enough will be ready for saddle training for the Fall.

They are current on their vaccinations, have negative Coggins, and are ready to travel.  S. Resonance has been trailered several times, and been stalled at different places, and in a large pasture with company of various ages. D F has been in a couple different stalls, but mostly in a large pasture where he can run and play, with and without Resonance, and with horses of various ages.  Both gentlemen stand for the veterinarian and the farrier and for basic grooming.  They were imprinted as foals, and can be pastured with other horses, young and older.

All Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm members of the Herd have their pedigrees listed on www.allbreedpedigree.com

Stallions: can be Gelded

   No Vices

Family Pleasure and Class A national caliber, people-friendly Morgan Horses Available.

GET READY FOR SHOW SEASON, driving local trails, or raising a foal or young horse of your own.

Our herd currently numbers 19.  This includes young horses, horses started  to driving or saddle, finished  show and pleasure morgans all the way to senior citizens; stallions, mares, mares in foal and geldings. Many are for sale, and we sell our best. So far, every morgan horse that we have sold has gone on to a permanent home.  A fact that we are very proud of as Morgan Horse breeders for more than thirty years.  We are a three generation family farm.

We have four stallions available At Stud. Two Bays, One Black, and One Chestnut. Three of the four are available For Sale.  Each one is pleasant, tractable, has great conformation, good movement, and is beautiful. The two bays and the black are the ones for sale.  They could also be gelded, and be spectacular geldings. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian.  All been ridden by amateurs and have been seriously prepared for driving via long-lining +. The black has been in driving training.

There are four geldings also for sale  (Sleipnir Explorer went from the Grand Nationals to a show home):

Two gorgeous, friendly Bays, who are mature and have been ridden in various tack and who both also drive.  One had significant driving training and can be driven by a 4 y/o, as well as being fine for youth and adults. The other has been an In-hand Champion and comes from superior showhorse lines. Again, no vices.  Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian. Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses.

Perfect examples of our motto: Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses.  Ready for their own special humans.

Sleipnir Fieldstone with Mary Kate and Travis, whip

Two younger chestnut geldings. Two years old. Almost a matching pair. Family friendly; Show horse quality. Ready to be finished as an amateur trained pair or professional quality singles. Like the two older bays: Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins.  Stand for farrier and veterinarian.

And NOW The MARES: We have a number of lovely ladies available; and some that we would also consider for on-farm Broodmare lease.

We have a spectacular BLACK mare who is a Grand National proven showhorse in Roadster-to-Bike. She has MANY hours of professional training with a well-known driving trainer.  She can alter her speed from him to an amateur owner.  She is also trained for saddle, and is super friendly, and loves carrots!  Safe to hook single-handed…safe to stand in harness…will not balk for amateur handler(s).  Stands for the farrier and veterinarian.  Has trailered locally and long distance with no balking at loading, or hauling. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. She will definitely be in the ring for someone this year…make sure that someone is you!

Sleipnir Onstar - Grand National Roadster-to-Bike, Travis Olinger, whip

Some other really nice mares…for pleasure/local homes or the class A show circuit or the breeding shed. Famous bloodlines up close, with the conformation, beauty, movement, presence and human-loving character than are the strong points of the Morgan Horse breed.  Bloodlines that will cross well with all the popular lines.

We also are acting as Agents for another long-time Morgan Horse (driving) Breeding Farm….ask us!!!

Two mares in foal. Both foals will be offered For SALE.  Put a deposit on one, or both, NOW!!

Get your choice now; while there is still time to tune-up for show season.

Sleipnir Fieldstone (B-L Rhinestone Kid x NEJ Golddust Emma) 2006 Bay Gelding – Harness and Saddle

Sleipnir Fieldstone - Autumn 2011

Sleipnir Fieldstone is from Rhinestone’s final foal crop; and he is out of one of my favorite mares, Emma, who we have on a breeding lease. Fieldstone is trained for harness and saddle.

He is one of two well trained mature geldings that we have for sale. The other is Sleipnir Celestial Array.  We also have several mature geldings on our sales list for other owners.

Fieldstone has been handled by both professionals and amateurs since his birth. All our foals are imprinted at birth…more on that topic later.

He was started in his ground driving training by a very experienced long-time carriage driving enthusiast, whose family has had morgan horses for generations.  Fieldstone recently has been in professional driving training to be completely finished as a safe family driving horse.  He has been shown in Morgan Class A pleasure driving, but that is an aside from his family driving.

Mary Kate driving S. Fieldstone. Photo by Audra Olinger. In his picture here, he is being driven by our trainer’s 4 y/o daughter. She has the reins.

Travis  Olinger, his trainer, showed him at the 2011 Liberty Classic Horse Show.  Travis’ email is: atolinger@charter.net  He trains harness horses. His family is prominent in Hackney pony and Saddlebreds in Harness here in Eastern Tennessee.  He likes to work with amateur owners.  We are encouraging an appreciation for our family friendly morgan show  and backyard horses.

 S. Fieldstone was recently shown in Pleasure Driving at the 2011 Liberty Classic Horse Show. I will post pictures, etc from that in another blog posting.

After his class, Fieldstone also was driven on the show-grounds by an amateur beginner new to him.

He has been trained to saddle by our middle grand-daughter, Kimberly, when she was a younger teen-ager…beginner.  He has been ridden in rings of various sizes and in our fields.  She has severe allergies so she has not been up on him for awhile.  But his driving is totally up to date.

Fieldstone loves humans, especially the little ones. We have used him as a grooming demonstration horse as a 2 y/o, with THREE 7 – 8 y/o boys…and a surrounding crowd.

He also has gone as a breed representative to a Farm Extension Day for all the county first graders, and extended families, and home schoolers.

S. Fieldstone is a prime example of our breeding motto for over thirty years:

“Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses”

Driving Horses at Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm (SMHF), Delano, Tennessee

I have had people talking to me about driving horses recently. Not all Morgans know how to drive. But many start their working career by learning to drive. Here is a brief discussion of horses on the farm, many of which are for sale and know how to be driven.
Sleipnir Constellation (Connie) 1983 and Coeur d’Alene (Alene) 1988 both know well how to be driven. Connie was a well-known show horse in New England in the 1980’s. Alene is the dam of two of our stallions and Connie is the dam of another. They are both dams of members of our next generation broodmare band as well. They are retired broodmares and happily munch grass together in a nice paddock. They both love carrots. May’s Sweetie (1984) was the main driving horse for a prominent, knowledgeable carriage driver. She is blind in one eye from an old injury, and is also a retired broodmare here on our farm. We have a few of her very nice “Produce” for sale for us and for her owner. Playday Rebecca (Becca) 1990 and NEJ Golddust Emma (a “Sweetie” daughter) (1995) are broodmares only, and are hopefully in foal. NEJ Golddust Alice (also a “Sweetie” daughter) (1993) has never been hooked, but she has been ground-driven with untrained horses in pairs, probably the only one doing so on the farm…with the kids (Amber for sure). Alice and Emma are both available, and Sweetie could be persuaded to accompany either or both of her daughters as a companion horse to a new home.

Sleipnir Southern Cross (Blaze) 1998 and Sleipnir Spice on Top (Topsie) 1999 both know how to be driven. They have both been driven by several different drivers. Neither one are currently offered for sale as they are planned replacement pedigrees for the broodmare band. Cece (Triagn Smooth Sailing) our gorgeous Palomino mare is intended to be a pleasure, and/or carriage, driving mare, prior to our breeding her to Sleipnir Echo’s Finale. S. Sophisticated Lady (Sophie) 2001 hasn’t been hooked; and is intended to join S. Southern Cross, S. Spice on Top, S. Andromeda, and Triagn Smooth Sailing as the next-generation broodmare band.
Sleipnir Celestial Array (Array) 2002 and Sleipnir Fieldstone (Fieldstone) 2006. Array and Fieldstone, both bay geldings, were both started by an experienced morgan horse driver. Array is at the Nerlands being used as Chris’ Hunt Seat saddle horse and Fieldstone is going to Travis Olinger to get tuned up for The Liberty United Classic Horse Show. Both are professional quality, amateur-safe, and are for sale and available.

R’surene Reparte (1995) knows how to be driven, and has been shown in Pleasure Driving by Chris. Reparte is available for sale by the Nerlands. He can be seen here at our farm. NEJ Golddust Jaxx (1993) and NEJ Golddust Wilbur (1994) have had basic training for driving and saddle work. They are BIG, TALL, SOLID BLACK horses bred to be part of a four-in-hand for a well-known carriage driving enthusiast. Others of their siblings may also be available. Alice and Emma are here on our farm; these guys are nearby.

All four current stallions: S. Carbon Copy (2000) S. Sequoyah (2003) S. Echo’s Finale (2004) and S. Zenith (2004) have had ground-driving experience, but none have been hooked. Three of them are For Sale and would make excellent Class A Pleasure Driving stallions (or geldings). All are pleasant to work with, and all are also available At Stud. We only breed a couple horses a year, and we don’t need four stallions.
Sleipnir Onstar, (2003 )our Black mare, of course, drives. Trained for western saddle, and used with Hunt Tack, and probably Saddle Seat Tack, Onstar’s early career, believe it or not, was as a lesson horse for our YOUNG beginner grandchildren. She has been in training with Travis Olinger for driving and she has made her Morgan Horse Class A show ring debut this year in Roadster to Bike! Onstar has a couple more Class A Morgan Horse Shows this year with Travis. Onstar can move up or down the class lists and has been a well-kept secret in Morgandom. Many people who watched her debut at the Bluegrass Morgan in Kentucky against well-known former Park Horses, wondered who she was. People won’t be wondering much longer. Onstar follows Travis like a puppy back to the barn, stands quiet to be tacked up, is great for the farrier and veterinarian, and has the pedigree and conformation to benefit ANY Morgan breeding program. She is one of the few remaining B-L Rhinestone Kid producing daughters.
Sleipnir Onstar exemplifies our motto: Family Show Horses: Showy Family Horses.

All four of our young junior horses can be ground-driven and are For Sale. They are like all our horses, beautiful, talented, great pedigrees, superior conformation, and willing personalities. S. Hiwassee and S. Echo’s Celebrity (“Bree”) (2009) have started their ground training to drive and can progress to the hooking stage. S. Double Feature (“DF”) and S. Resonance (“Res”) 2010 probably ought to wait until late winter to hook. They might make a great tall chestnut driving pair with their similar markings. However, each could have a fine show or family career on their own.
I am currently writing new updates for the individual pages for each of the “For Sale” horses. Pictures of all of the For Sale Horses can be seen by clicking on their individual photos from the home page OR
By going to www.ImagesnMemories.com then Galleries, then SMHF – Public Galleries, then Stallions, Mares or Geldings For Sale and each individual horse has a few pages of pictures.

We are happy to talk pedigrees, talents, etc. Feel free to email, or call to discuss any of the horses. If we do not have something to suit you, we’ll know other Morgan Horse people that might. Amber (McGee) our oldest grand-daughter is showing the Class A shows down south, in training with Sue Nerland (& Chris)  and the youngest, grand-daughter, Kaya Bayard, is their groom. So, you may even find us on the rail. Last year was the first time since 1988, with Beth, Caitrin, and Britta, (and John!)
Also, Elizabeth (McGee), our oldest daughter, is the Show Manager for the Liberty United Classic Horse Show in Cleveland, TN, 37325, September 24 & 25 (Saturday and Sunday). It is going to be a major show for Morgans, and other breeds. This is the first year that it is rated THREE STARS AMHA. Plan on seeing us all there! http://LibertyUnitedHorseShow.yolasite.com and come for a visit to the farm, we are just a few minutes north of the show ground.
