Meet the Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm Geldings, Part 1 of 2, Sleipnir Celestial Array and Sleipnir Fieldstone

With the sale of Sleipnir Explorer (B-L Rhinestone Kid x May’s Sweetie), our BAY 2006 gelding, to his new show home in OKC with Savannah and Julie Mitchell, we have four other geldings available. Two are mature and trained to ride and drive. Two are two year olds and have all their early handling training done.

Sleipnir Celestial Array w/ John Denman, whip

Array is a 2002 Bay Gelding (Hylee’s The Rage x Sleipnir Constellation, by B-L Rhinestone Kid) with impeccable bloodlines and excellent conformation. Array has been a Show Champion in-Hand at a Class A morgan show, is professionally trained to be ridden Western and has also been worked by our grand-daughter, Amber, under Hunt tack, under the direction of Sue Nerland, a well-known former Equitation Instructor/trainer.  He has been trained on the ground and hooked by a well known carriage driving/pleasure driving enthusiast, with amateur assistance.

There is a video of him being driven on the Blue Ridge Morgan Horse Association – For Sale page.

http://blueridgemorganhorseassociation.yolasite.com/horses-for-sale.php

S. Celestial Array is 14.3hh, barefoot, trimmed for pasture.  He is current on all his vaccinations, and with a Negative Coggins.  He stands well for the farrier, veterinarian, and to be groomed in the cross-ties by amateurs.  He has been trailered safely several times. No vices. Can stay in a stall or in a paddock. He doesn’t bother paddock fences.

He is a multi-talented fellow who is Class A, national caliber, for a multitude of versatile disciplines. He deserves to have someone who has more time to devote to just him.  We have several more young horses needing further training, and Array is too talented to be sitting in the paddock, under-utilized. He is a favorite of visitors to the farm and along the rail.

John injured his foot this past Autumn at the Morgan Grand National Horse Show (not due to a horse)…So, we have been more than a little occupied with a long saga with his health. We are hoping to get back to driving as the weather, and his health, improves.

SLEIPNIR FIELDSTONE

Fieldstone, (B-L Rhinestone Kid x NEJ Golddust Emma) a BAY 2006 gelding is also 14.3hh, unshod, and trimmed flat for pasture/paddock living.  Currently he is stalled at our trainer, Travis Olinger’s. He is well-behaved in a paddock or pasture also, singly or with others.
Our only remaining gelding by our deceased senior stallion, Fieldstone was trained to ride by a professional trainer & our family – amateur grand-daughter, Kimberly, with professional direction – hunt seat & western tack.  He has been trained to drive by a professional trainer, for primarily home based pleasure driving; shown at one morgan show in Pleasure Driving – did well, trailered, tacked, shown in ring for first time, driven on the grounds by amateur visitor with no experience with him…took it all in stride.

Fieldstone is closely bred to Sleipnir Explorer, our Grand National Top Ten equitation gelding.  He is by the same sire, out of a daughter of Explorer’s dam, May’s Sweetie.
Solid and sensible describes Fieldstone.  All our morgans are very people friendly. Fieldstone loves carrots. He is very calm and cool for handling & driving…Travis hooks by himself.  His horses stand quietly.

See the photos of Travis’ daughter, MaryKate, giving kisses in the crossties: www.ImagesnMemories.com >>> Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm – Public Gallery >>> Geldings For Sale >>> Sleipnir Fieldstone.
We used him as a two year old for a grooming demonstration by three 8 y/o boys at an Open Barn event; He was fine for the active boys and also fine with a crowd approaching. (Photos: Same Gallery)
S. Fieldstone was also brought to an TN Extension Service Fun On The Farm Day with county-wide first grade classes and home-schooled children and all their family members. Fieldstone stood in a metal square pen and let multiple children pet him, feed him carrots, and have family members take flash photos…trailered well. (Photos: Same Gallery).

Fieldstone has been shod. He stands well for the vet and farrier. He has been kept unshod, just trimmed at home. Fieldstone keeps a nice hoof. He is current on all vaccinations and has a Negative Coggins.  He has been trailered several times in local area under 50 miles.
Prices: Sleipnir Celestial Array and Sleipnir Fieldstone are priced comparatively at $7,500.00 and $7.250.00 respectively. Their prices are negotiable to good loving homes.  We have been morgan horse breeders for over 30 years, and we pride ourselves on matching our horses to new human companions.  EVERY horse that we have sold has gone to a permanent home with their new humans.

You can obtain additional details from S. Fieldstone’s trainer, Travis Olinger, at his email: atolinger@charter.net  or via phone at 423 341 7930  or call or text me at: 423 284 0899.  Our emails are: DenmanFam@aol.com or GLDenman@aol.com They are both really nice horses, who each deserve a special home.

It is time to start the Foal Contest

We, as breeders, have been anticipating the 2012 foals for over a year now…Actually, we have crosses planned in our minds and on paper for decades…some will occur; some won’t.

Playday Rebecca (Stoneholm Taliesin x Stoneholm Alameda) (Very Dark Brown) and NEJ Golddust Emma (Golddust Miner M C x May’s Sweetie) (Black) are in foal to Sleipnir Carbon Copy  (B-L Rhinestone Kid x Coeur d’Alene, by Breezeway) (Mahogany Bay) for 2012 foals.

Emma was bred first, and ‘Becca second.  However, ‘Becca could deliver earlier than Emma.

John is projecting  two fillies: ‘Becca’s Seal Brown and Emma’s Black; with Emma being first and ‘Becca second.

I am also projecting two filles:  ‘Becca’s being Bay and Emma’s being Seal Brown; with the same order as John.

Photo: Sleipnir Carbon Copy

John has suggested Sleipnir Carbon’s Playday as a name for ‘Becca’s foal, suitable for a colt or a filly, any coat color.

Depending on their coat color, I like something similar to Sleipnir Black Gold for Emma’s foal…Elizabeth had a Tri-color collie that we used that name for, and we called him “Tex”.

You can add your guesses.  Either add them as a comment below; or send them as an Email, and I’ll keep tabs.  You can guess anonymously if you would like …

No prize, except seeing the resulting foals.

Stallions: can be Gelded

Family Pleasure and Class A national caliber, people-friendly Morgan Horses Available.

GET READY FOR SHOW SEASON, driving local trails, or raising a foal or young horse of your own.

Our herd currently numbers 19.  This includes young horses, horses started  to driving or saddle, finished  show and pleasure morgans all the way to senior citizens; stallions, mares, mares in foal and geldings. Many are for sale, and we sell our best. So far, every morgan horse that we have sold has gone on to a permanent home.  A fact that we are very proud of as Morgan Horse breeders for more than thirty years.  We are a three generation family farm.

We have four stallions available At Stud. Two Bays, One Black, and One Chestnut. Three of the four are available For Sale.  Each one is pleasant, tractable, has great conformation, good movement, and is beautiful. The two bays and the black are the ones for sale.  They could also be gelded, and be spectacular geldings. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian.  All been ridden by amateurs and have been seriously prepared for driving via long-lining +. The black has been in driving training.

There are four geldings also for sale  (Sleipnir Explorer went from the Grand Nationals to a show home):

Two gorgeous, friendly Bays, who are mature and have been ridden in various tack and who both also drive.  One had significant driving training and can be driven by a 4 y/o, as well as being fine for youth and adults. The other has been an In-hand Champion and comes from superior showhorse lines. Again, no vices.  Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. Stand for farrier and veterinarian. Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses.

Perfect examples of our motto: Family Show Horses : Showy Family Horses.  Ready for their own special humans.

Sleipnir Fieldstone with Mary Kate and Travis, whip

Two younger chestnut geldings. Two years old. Almost a matching pair. Family friendly; Show horse quality. Ready to be finished as an amateur trained pair or professional quality singles. Like the two older bays: Get them now; or compete against them later. Safe for home pleasure driving or Class A national caliber show horses. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins.  Stand for farrier and veterinarian.

And NOW The MARES: We have a number of lovely ladies available; and some that we would also consider for on-farm Broodmare lease.

We have a spectacular BLACK mare who is a Grand National proven showhorse in Roadster-to-Bike. She has MANY hours of professional training with a well-known driving trainer.  She can alter her speed from him to an amateur owner.  She is also trained for saddle, and is super friendly, and loves carrots!  Safe to hook single-handed…safe to stand in harness…will not balk for amateur handler(s).  Stands for the farrier and veterinarian.  Has trailered locally and long distance with no balking at loading, or hauling. No vices. Current on all vaccinations and a negative Coggins. She will definitely be in the ring for someone this year…make sure that someone is you!

Sleipnir Onstar - Grand National Roadster-to-Bike, Travis Olinger, whip

Some other really nice mares…for pleasure/local homes or the class A show circuit or the breeding shed. Famous bloodlines up close, with the conformation, beauty, movement, presence and human-loving character than are the strong points of the Morgan Horse breed.  Bloodlines that will cross well with all the popular lines.

We also are acting as Agents for another long-time Morgan Horse (driving) Breeding Farm….ask us!!!

Two mares in foal. Both foals will be offered For SALE.  Put a deposit on one, or both, NOW!!

Get your choice now; while there is still time to tune-up for show season.

You may contact Georgia directly by phone, text, (423 284 0899) or email… GLDenman@aol.com

Driving Horses at Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm (SMHF), Delano, Tennessee

I have had people talking to me about driving horses recently. Not all Morgans know how to drive. But many start their working career by learning to drive. Here is a brief discussion of horses on the farm, many of which are for sale and know how to be driven.
Sleipnir Constellation (Connie) 1983 and Coeur d’Alene (Alene) 1988 both know well how to be driven. Connie was a well-known show horse in New England in the 1980’s. Alene is the dam of two of our stallions and Connie is the dam of another. They are both dams of members of our next generation broodmare band as well. They are retired broodmares and happily munch grass together in a nice paddock. They both love carrots. May’s Sweetie (1984) was the main driving horse for a prominent, knowledgeable carriage driver. She is blind in one eye from an old injury, and is also a retired broodmare here on our farm. We have a few of her very nice “Produce” for sale for us and for her owner. Playday Rebecca (Becca) 1990 and NEJ Golddust Emma (a “Sweetie” daughter) (1995) are broodmares only, and are hopefully in foal. NEJ Golddust Alice (also a “Sweetie” daughter) (1993) has never been hooked, but she has been ground-driven with untrained horses in pairs, probably the only one doing so on the farm…with the kids (Amber for sure). Alice and Emma are both available, and Sweetie could be persuaded to accompany either or both of her daughters as a companion horse to a new home.

Sleipnir Southern Cross (Blaze) 1998 and Sleipnir Spice on Top (Topsie) 1999 both know how to be driven. They have both been driven by several different drivers. Neither one are currently offered for sale as they are planned replacement pedigrees for the broodmare band. Cece (Triagn Smooth Sailing) our gorgeous Palomino mare is intended to be a pleasure, and/or carriage, driving mare, prior to our breeding her to Sleipnir Echo’s Finale. S. Sophisticated Lady (Sophie) 2001 hasn’t been hooked; and is intended to join S. Southern Cross, S. Spice on Top, S. Andromeda, and Triagn Smooth Sailing as the next-generation broodmare band.
Sleipnir Celestial Array (Array) 2002 and Sleipnir Fieldstone (Fieldstone) 2006. Array and Fieldstone, both bay geldings, were both started by an experienced morgan horse driver. Array is at the Nerlands being used as Chris’ Hunt Seat saddle horse and Fieldstone is going to Travis Olinger to get tuned up for The Liberty United Classic Horse Show. Both are professional quality, amateur-safe, and are for sale and available.

R’surene Reparte (1995) knows how to be driven, and has been shown in Pleasure Driving by Chris. Reparte is available for sale by the Nerlands. He can be seen here at our farm. NEJ Golddust Jaxx (1993) and NEJ Golddust Wilbur (1994) have had basic training for driving and saddle work. They are BIG, TALL, SOLID BLACK horses bred to be part of a four-in-hand for a well-known carriage driving enthusiast. Others of their siblings may also be available. Alice and Emma are here on our farm; these guys are nearby.

All four current stallions: S. Carbon Copy (2000) S. Sequoyah (2003) S. Echo’s Finale (2004) and S. Zenith (2004) have had ground-driving experience, but none have been hooked. Three of them are For Sale and would make excellent Class A Pleasure Driving stallions (or geldings). All are pleasant to work with, and all are also available At Stud. We only breed a couple horses a year, and we don’t need four stallions.
Sleipnir Onstar, (2003 )our Black mare, of course, drives. Trained for western saddle, and used with Hunt Tack, and probably Saddle Seat Tack, Onstar’s early career, believe it or not, was as a lesson horse for our YOUNG beginner grandchildren. She has been in training with Travis Olinger for driving and she has made her Morgan Horse Class A show ring debut this year in Roadster to Bike! Onstar has a couple more Class A Morgan Horse Shows this year with Travis. Onstar can move up or down the class lists and has been a well-kept secret in Morgandom. Many people who watched her debut at the Bluegrass Morgan in Kentucky against well-known former Park Horses, wondered who she was. People won’t be wondering much longer. Onstar follows Travis like a puppy back to the barn, stands quiet to be tacked up, is great for the farrier and veterinarian, and has the pedigree and conformation to benefit ANY Morgan breeding program. She is one of the few remaining B-L Rhinestone Kid producing daughters.
Sleipnir Onstar exemplifies our motto: Family Show Horses: Showy Family Horses.

All four of our young junior horses can be ground-driven and are For Sale. They are like all our horses, beautiful, talented, great pedigrees, superior conformation, and willing personalities. S. Hiwassee and S. Echo’s Celebrity (“Bree”) (2009) have started their ground training to drive and can progress to the hooking stage. S. Double Feature (“DF”) and S. Resonance (“Res”) 2010 probably ought to wait until late winter to hook. They might make a great tall chestnut driving pair with their similar markings. However, each could have a fine show or family career on their own.
I am currently writing new updates for the individual pages for each of the “For Sale” horses. Pictures of all of the For Sale Horses can be seen by clicking on their individual photos from the home page OR
By going to www.ImagesnMemories.com then Galleries, then SMHF – Public Galleries, then Stallions, Mares or Geldings For Sale and each individual horse has a few pages of pictures.

We are happy to talk pedigrees, talents, etc. Feel free to email, or call to discuss any of the horses. If we do not have something to suit you, we’ll know other Morgan Horse people that might. Amber (McGee) our oldest grand-daughter is showing the Class A shows down south, in training with Sue Nerland (& Chris)  and the youngest, grand-daughter, Kaya Bayard, is their groom. So, you may even find us on the rail. Last year was the first time since 1988, with Beth, Caitrin, and Britta, (and John!)
Also, Elizabeth (McGee), our oldest daughter, is the Show Manager for the Liberty United Classic Horse Show in Cleveland, TN, 37325, September 24 & 25 (Saturday and Sunday). It is going to be a major show for Morgans, and other breeds. This is the first year that it is rated THREE STARS AMHA. Plan on seeing us all there! http://LibertyUnitedHorseShow.yolasite.com and come for a visit to the farm, we are just a few minutes north of the show ground.
