The Produce of Playday Rebecca

A few years ago I was captivated by a photo of a lovely Palomino Morgan Mare with excellent bloodlines (Triagn Smooth Sailing, aka “CeCe”). She was available, and so was her dam, Playday Rebecca (“Becca”).  We had several hopes from the purchase of the two mares, some of which have been realized, and some still pending. Look for some further up to date photos of Becca and her produce for us coming soon.  In the meantime, here are a few teasers.

Besides several nice foals for others, and CeCe, Becca has had three excellent foals for us:

Sleipnir Echo’s Celebrity (“Bree”), by Sleipnir Echo’s Finale, a 2009 dark brown mare.

Pleasant fellow.  Hasn’t had much attention from us due to John’s health and other issues.

Make him your equine buddy and finish him as you want and need. Zenith’s only Get available; and Alice’s final foal. A unique cross never to be repeated.

$2,500.00

Prices and availability subject to change at our discretion.

Not a mean horse in the Herd of 18; some just are further trained than others. We pride ourselves on intelligent, pleasant, athletic and willing members of the Herd.

1980 – 2009

Photos by Suzy Lucine

Rhinestone, aka “Mickey” became ours in 1980, as a weanling. He was trained to both harness and saddle. He was shown in the mid-1980’s at several of the Class A shows in New England.  Our first foal, Sleipnir Valhalla (UVM Viking x UC Spicy Lass), and he were turn out buddies, stablemates, trailermates, and show stablemates.

Rhinestone was first bred to U C Spicy Lass, our first Morgan, for a 1983 foal, who became a filly, Sleipnir Constelaton.  See a separate forthcoming post about her.

He went on to sire more foals for us, and others,  in Massachusetts, and after our move to Tennessee.  He was always a gentleman to his mares, and never came off his feet until John told him ok.

Three of our current herd sires are his sons:  Sleipnir Carbon Copy (x Coeur d’Alene); Sleipnir Sequoyah (x Coeur d’Alene); and Sleipnir Zenith (x Hip Heath Zanna). And our other herd sire is a grandson, Sleipnir Echo’s Finale (Exquisite Sir Echo x Sleipnir Constelaton). He has another son who has been active as a Stud.

We still have a few of his daughters in the herd also.  Sleipnir Constelaton is retired, and our current matriarch at 30 y/o; Sleipnir Sophisticated Lady, a full sister to S. Zenith; and Sleipnir OnStar (x NEJ Golddust Louise). He has other daughters who were sold to be utilized as show horses, parade, breeding, and family trail horses. And grand-daughters out there too.

We have one of his gelding sons, Sleipnir Fieldstone (x NEJ Golddust Emma) as one of our primary family harness horses.  The other is his grandson via S. Constelaton (Sleipnir Celestial Array). He has gelding sons as national show horses, lesson horses, trail, and backyard pleasure mounts.  One son has been an actor in historic re-enactments. He also has grandsons performing in many of these careers.

Rhinestone was born in New York, and lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Iowa and Tennessee.  He is buried here on the farm near his buddy, Valhalla and other here-for-the-duration members of the Herd.

Sleipnir Sequoyah – Black Morgan Stallion

20130928-040454.jpg

Sleipnir Sequoyah (B-L Rhinestone Kid x Coeur d’Alene, by Breezeway x a Funquest Consuelo daughter) is a proven black stallion. Sequoyah is a 2003 model.

He has returned from several months harness training at Travis Olinger’s Saddle Creek Stable, Cleveland, TN. Travis is a well known harness trainer from a long time horse show family.

Sequoyah is easy going and friendly; and stands to be hitched by a lone person. He is kind to his mares, rides well to be trailered, has no vices, is current on all his vaccinations etc; and is equally comfortable in a stall in a training stable or out in a large turnout at home. He has been ridden in the past. We are well pleased with his Get; though he could be gelded if that would better suit a purchaser. He is available At Stud to an outside mare, or through an on-farm broodmare lease.

There are further pictures from various stages of Sequoyah’s training in my blog, and on Elizabeth McGee’s website, http://www.ImagesnMemories.com

His full pedigree can be seen on All Breed Pedigrees, as can all the Sleipnir Morgans.

He has one daughter, a 2009 Black mare, Sleipnir Hiwassee (x NEJ Golddust Emma) available for sale.
