Meet the Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm Geldings, Part 2 of 2: Two 2 y/o Chestnut Geldings: Sleipnir Double Feature and Sleipnir Resonance

Two 2010 Geldings and Two 2009 Mares running in pasture

Meet Sleipnir Double Feature (D F) and Sleipnir Resonance, our two 2010 red chestnut/sorrel Morgan geldings.  In the picture above from Front to Rear, it is S. Resonance, S. Double Feature; then two 2009 mares: S. Hiwassee, a black mare by Sleipnir Sequoyah and S. Echo’s Celebrity (a full sister to D F).

Sleipnir Double Feature (Sleipnir Echo’s Finale x Playday Rebecca)  (“D F”).  D F is the essence of all that we hoped for from a cross between Echo and Rebecca.  He is intelligent, athletic, handsome, friendly and willing to please, with a great way of going.  He is royally bred with a pedigree filled with athletic, people-friendly, and beautifully formed ancestors.  He should mature around 15hh+/-.  He has all the talent and temperament for a multitude of disciplines; either as a National level, Class A caliber show horse in Pleasure Driving, a fancy friendly family horse, or an athletic competitive carriage driving horse.  S. Double Feature could be paired with either S. Resonance or S. Echo’s Celebrity.  Like all our horses, we have every reason to keep him; but we sell our best, and with John still recovering from his foot wound/infection that he acquired while attending the 2011 W/GN MHS in OKC, we are not able to devote the attention to our herd that they deserve.  Everyone who sees this guy wants to get driving him!! and by Fall, he’ll be ready to saddle. Get him now, and train him your way. He is priced at $5,000.00, and we would prefer a home where he will be able to be fully utilized to his best advantage.

Sleipnir Resonance (Sleipnir Echo’s Finale x NEJ Golddust Alice) Resonance is slightly redder chestnut than Double Feature (D F); but still close enough to be a pair. He is super friendly, and comes right to the fence for bits of carrots and to be scratched.  Resonance is also by “Echo” and out of one of our  favorite producing mares, “Alice”.  Alice is a great mother, easy to breed, and to deliver, and nice to work around her foals. She is also a great horse for beginner riders of any age for in the schooling rings.  She is tall enough for a man, and pretty enough for a woman, and has been a lesson horse for all our grand-children, plus others.  (She is available For Sale by her owners; we have her on lease). Resonance had an eye injury earlier last Autumn, but has completely recovered.  His veterinarian is available to confirm that his vision is unaffected.  The flaw does lead us to price him slightly lower than he would usually be: at $1,975.00.  He should mature to the same range as DF.   Alice’s foals have been sold for breeding stock as well as permanent members of family farms.  Resonance is a bit further in his handling training due to his eye injury, and need to be handled and stalled.  People who have worked around him will agree that he is a sweetheart with tons of potential in various disciplines, singly or as a pair.

Either singly, as a possible pair, or combined with any of our other offered horses, S. Double Feature and Sleipnir Resonance, would make friendly and athletic additions to anyone’s stable or paddocks.  For those buyers that prefer red and brown chestnut/sorrel to other coat colors, they would be a treasure.  These fellows are ready to train to drive your way, or soon enough will be ready for saddle training for the Fall.

They are current on their vaccinations, have negative Coggins, and are ready to travel.  S. Resonance has been trailered several times, and been stalled at different places, and in a large pasture with company of various ages. D F has been in a couple different stalls, but mostly in a large pasture where he can run and play, with and without Resonance, and with horses of various ages.  Both gentlemen stand for the veterinarian and the farrier and for basic grooming.  They were imprinted as foals, and can be pastured with other horses, young and older.

All Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm members of the Herd have their pedigrees listed on www.allbreedpedigree.com

Sleipnir Celestial Array w/ John Denman, whip

Array is a 2002 Bay Gelding (Hylee’s The Rage x Sleipnir Constellation, by B-L Rhinestone Kid) with impeccable bloodlines and excellent conformation. Array has been a Show Champion in-Hand at a Class A morgan show, is professionally trained to be ridden Western and has also been worked by our grand-daughter, Amber, under Hunt tack, under the direction of Sue Nerland, a well-known former Equitation Instructor/trainer.  He has been trained on the ground and hooked by a well known carriage driving/pleasure driving enthusiast, with amateur assistance.

There is a video of him being driven on the Blue Ridge Morgan Horse Association – For Sale page.

S. Celestial Array is 14.3hh, barefoot, trimmed for pasture.  He is current on all his vaccinations, and with a Negative Coggins.  He stands well for the farrier, veterinarian, and to be groomed in the cross-ties by amateurs.  He has been trailered safely several times. No vices. Can stay in a stall or in a paddock. He doesn’t bother paddock fences.

He is a multi-talented fellow who is Class A, national caliber, for a multitude of versatile disciplines. He deserves to have someone who has more time to devote to just him.  We have several more young horses needing further training, and Array is too talented to be sitting in the paddock, under-utilized. He is a favorite of visitors to the farm and along the rail.

John injured his foot this past Autumn at the Morgan Grand National Horse Show (not due to a horse)…So, we have been more than a little occupied with a long saga with his health. We are hoping to get back to driving as the weather, and his health, improves.

SLEIPNIR FIELDSTONE

Fieldstone, (B-L Rhinestone Kid x NEJ Golddust Emma) a BAY 2006 gelding is also 14.3hh, unshod, and trimmed flat for pasture/paddock living.  Currently he is stalled at our trainer, Travis Olinger’s. He is well-behaved in a paddock or pasture also, singly or with others.
Our only remaining gelding by our deceased senior stallion, Fieldstone was trained to ride by a professional trainer & our family – amateur grand-daughter, Kimberly, with professional direction – hunt seat & western tack.  He has been trained to drive by a professional trainer, for primarily home based pleasure driving; shown at one morgan show in Pleasure Driving – did well, trailered, tacked, shown in ring for first time, driven on the grounds by amateur visitor with no experience with him…took it all in stride.

Fieldstone is closely bred to Sleipnir Explorer, our Grand National Top Ten equitation gelding.  He is by the same sire, out of a daughter of Explorer’s dam, May’s Sweetie.
Solid and sensible describes Fieldstone.  All our morgans are very people friendly. Fieldstone loves carrots. He is very calm and cool for handling & driving…Travis hooks by himself.  His horses stand quietly.

See the photos of Travis’ daughter, MaryKate, giving kisses in the crossties: www.ImagesnMemories.com >>> Sleipnir Morgan Horse Farm – Public Gallery >>> Geldings For Sale >>> Sleipnir Fieldstone.
We used him as a two year old for a grooming demonstration by three 8 y/o boys at an Open Barn event; He was fine for the active boys and also fine with a crowd approaching. (Photos: Same Gallery)
S. Fieldstone was also brought to an TN Extension Service Fun On The Farm Day with county-wide first grade classes and home-schooled children and all their family members. Fieldstone stood in a metal square pen and let multiple children pet him, feed him carrots, and have family members take flash photos…trailered well. (Photos: Same Gallery).

Fieldstone has been shod. He stands well for the vet and farrier. He has been kept unshod, just trimmed at home. Fieldstone keeps a nice hoof. He is current on all vaccinations and has a Negative Coggins.  He has been trailered several times in local area under 50 miles.
Prices: Sleipnir Celestial Array and Sleipnir Fieldstone are priced comparatively at $7,500.00 and $7.250.00 respectively. Their prices are negotiable to good loving homes.  We have been morgan horse breeders for over 30 years, and we pride ourselves on matching our horses to new human companions.  EVERY horse that we have sold has gone to a permanent home with their new humans.

You can obtain additional details from S. Fieldstone’s trainer, Travis Olinger, at his email: atolinger@charter.net  or via phone at 423 341 7930  or call or text me at: 423 284 0899.  Our emails are: DenmanFam@aol.com or GLDenman@aol.com They are both really nice horses, who each deserve a special home.
